Announced this week, One of Sheffield’s best known businesswomen – and the ‘landlady’ of Sheffield’s premier business space, The Quadrant – is moving to pastures new.
Jenny Pupius, Business Director of Manor & Castle Development Trust (MCDT), is to take up the position of Chief Executive with Action for Business in Bradford from the middle of March.
Mrs Pupius came to Sheffield from Cumbria eighteen years ago. She ran her own marketing business for 8 years and played an active role in the city’s growing small business sector before becoming head of Destination Sheffield, marketing the city as a centre for business and leisure tourism.
Having moved to Manor & Castle Development Trust in 2001, she played a leading role in the creation of The Quadrant, MCDT’s flagship regeneration project. The project has provided a great stimulus to the redevelopment on the former Parkway Markets site
Since opening in the summer of 2005 The Quadrant has quickly established itself as the premier serviced office facility for high growth and not for profit businesses in the region.
Now home to over thirty organisations and with over 75% tenancy The Quadrant is the UK’s biggest community owned regeneration project.
It was created by M&CDT to provide income for the Trust’s many community projects in the south east of the city.
Announcing her move to Bradford, Jenny Pupius said, “I have been with Manor & Castle Development Trust for over five years, and it has been an amazing experience.
“The Trust is recognized as one of the most forward looking regeneration trusts in the country, and the imaginative and brave decision to create The Quadrant embodies everything that has been exciting for me about my role here.
“I am sad to leave, but I am looking forward very much to taking all that I have learned to benefit another community facing very similar issues.
“Above all, I am delighted to leave The Quadrant in such a healthy and vibrant position as a highly successful, highly valued business space contributing to the economy of the city and the regeneration of the area.”
Ends.
