The Quadrant has become the first ever property to be accredited as ict active - a new South Yorkshire-based scheme that accredits properties with good ICT infrastructure and helps businesses find workplaces that can support their needs.
The accreditation, supported by Yorkshire Forward and Business Link South Yorkshire, is the first of its kind in Britain and will help confirm the region as one of best places in the country for business.
To become accredited the Quadrant was put through a thorough technical survey which tested its ICT facilities including the fixed infrastructure and the provision of telephony and internet. South Yorkshire ICT specialists The Wired Workplace, who have been closely involved in the scheme from the start, carried out the survey.
The Quadrant passed with flying colours and was praised for features such as the range of internet packages offered and its VPN connectivity, enabling tenants to work from home if necessary.
Presenting the award, Sheffield Council leader Jan Wilson said she looked forward to more businesses in the region gaining ict active accreditation and around 15 businesses have already signed up to follow in the Quadrant’s footsteps.
