A new link up with Japanese company Ricoh is helping Line One Sales beat the doom and gloom. Line One Sales specialises in supporting UK/Eire based businesses with the manufacture of state of the art digital and electronic products ranging from smart cards and LCD screens to metering devices and digital entertainment systems. Thanks to the new lines they are opening with Ricoh they’ve taken on a new staff member and doubled the size of their office here at the Quadrant.

Quadrant staff are polishing their vocals in readiness for the Master Cutler’s Challenge. They’ve signed up with the Really NEET Project to take part in the Glee Bah, which is helping companies compose and sing their own corporate theme song. Young people from the Really NEET Project run a one hour workshop to help compose the song, then Quadrant staff will spend an hour in a studio recording it as well as taking part in a final event with other companies when all the songs will be played. The £150 each company pays will go to the Cavendish Care Centre – the chosen charity for the Master Cutler’s Challenge. So if your company desire a corporate ditty, now’s your chance!

National Open College Network, which has been based at the Quadrant since 2006, is growing and growing – so much so that they’ve moved into larger premises within the Quadrant. There are 2,500 centres offering NOCN qualifications to more than 800,000 successful learners every year and the operation is run from here in Sheffield where they employ more than 30 staff. The company, a not for profit organisation, has moved from their 2,400 sq ft suite to a 3,373 sq ft one and signed a three year lease

No, the new box that’s appeared in Magellan’s café is a suggestion box which is aimed, as ever, at improving the service we give. So if you’ve a favourite meal you’d like to see on the menu, an idea for speeding up service or any suggestion that you think could make your visits to the café more enjoyable, let us know. So far we’ve had some really great suggestions and as a result the café now has two extra toasters and stocks soya milk. We’ll try to meet all the requests we can to steer Magellan’s on the course you want.

One of the Quadrant’s big pluses is having experts on the doorstep, so we’re delighted Andy Hanselman is running his Duo courses – Drive Up and On  - here. “We help businesses get better at what they do,” says Andy. “We have entrepreneurs and business leaders from around Yorkshire.
